About Romaldkirk

The village of Romaldkirk takes its name from the village church. St. Romald's is part Norman and is also known as "the Cathedral of the Dale" and overlooks the village green, which boasts original stocks and village pump. The village sits around 6 miles from the market town of Barnard Castle and is one of those rare places which have not really been affected by modern times, making it a very attractive village, with most buildings filled with original character and features.

The village has an award winning hotel, the Rose & Crown, with its bar and restuarant open to non-residents as well. Meanwhile, the Kirk Inn is more a pub from the old-school. There are shops, cafes, more pubs and plenty to see and do in the surrounding villages and towns between 5 and 20 minutes drive away.
